Federal Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal Inaugurates Official Website of Pakistan Pharmacy Council
Syed Mustafa Kamal, Honourable Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination, inaugurated the official website of the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP) at a ceremony held at the Ministry of National Health Services Regulations & Coordination, Islamabad today.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Muhammad Zaeem Zia, Director General Health/President, Pharmacy Council of Pakistan, senior officials of MoNHSRC and members & officials of the Pharmacy Council.
Speaking on the occasion, the Federal Minister congratulated the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan on the launch of its official website/digital portal and termed it a significant milestone towards transparency, accessibility and quality assurance in pharmacy education and practice in Pakistan.
He stated:
> "This initiative will ensure quality assurance of pharmacy educational institutions across Pakistan. It will not only bring standardization in pharmacy education but will also empower the public and stakeholders to have their rights protected, including the facility to file complaints and seek redressal. Digitization of such processes is essential for good governance."
The new website will serve as a central platform for:
- Information on accredited pharmacy institutions and programs
- Online registration and verification of pharmacists
- Guidelines and standards for pharmacy education
- Online complaint portal for the public
- Latest news, notifications and regulatory updates
Dr. Zaeem Zia, Director General Health/President, Pharmacy Council of Pakistan thanked the Honourable Minister for his patronage and reaffirmed the Council's commitment to uplifting pharmacy education and professional standards in line with international best practices. He also appreciated the effort and said that strengthening regulatory bodies through technology is key to improving the healthcare delivery system of the country.
The Federal Minister praised the team of Pharmacy Council of Pakistan and directed to ensure that the website is user-friendly, regularly updated and provides maximum facilitation to students, institutions and the general public.
